Audio Cassett to CD via PC

Is there any "better" way to convert (educational) audio cassettes to CD
other than recording them with waveplayer?

Probably everybody has their favorite software. I like Wave Repair.

If you're asking whether there's other or better software available, there's
a number of packages that do quite well. I use and prefer Wave Corrector
(http://www.wavecor.co.uk). It's not free, but is one of the better audio
recording and processing packages at a very reasonable price. It has great
tape hiss removal feature, as well as a graphic equalizer that can be
applied to the audio. It's main purpose in life is to transcribe and clean
up audio from vinyl records, and does a superb job at it, but it also
handles tapes or any other audio source that you can plug into your sound
card's line input.

There's also Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/), which is freeware,
and is used by a large number of folks. It has quite a large number of
features, which makes it far too complicated for such a simple process.

There's also AudioGrabber at http://www.audiograbber.org/. It's aalso a
freebie, but I've never used it, so I can't comment on how good it is, or
how easy to use..
