My ATI AllInWonderPro video card has what looks like
an AGC problem in TV mode. Too much contrast,
tearing, jumping, loss of color sync.
AGC in the tuner seems to be working. I can
throttle it back to "snow" with the tuner AGC
and the problem persists. I changed both the tuner
AGC caps just in case. No joy.
The tuner video output looks OK. I think.
I downloaded the BT829 spec and have been trying to
troubleshoot its AGC. Because of the way the computer is
set up, it's very difficult to get at it while it's
running. I'm wearing out the AGP socket taking it in
and out to solder test wires on smt parts. It's only
a matter of time before I slip and bust something.
My buddy mentioned that his started doing the same thing.
So, maybe someone has solved this problem and can help
me save the last few hairs that I have not yet pulled out.
Ideas?
Thanks, mike
