Stephane:
I am having crashing problems with ic 50 33 that was just released and
any assura version. I can run lvs but when I try to open the error
report it crashes icfb. I am using 50.33.500.144 I think with 50 307
assura. I tried 306 and 31 also. Is anyone else seeing the assura
error report crash in 50 33?

AMS Designer is also causing not just icfb to crash by crashes my
entire system with ic 50 33. When running from the HED the GUI
doesn't come up. Running command line with runElabSim the GUI comes
up but crashes my system when I close simvision. Does anyone else see
this?

Stephane,
We have been using IC446MSR8 & assura 2.0 ( 8/15/2002 release) for
some time now, and the two versions are pretty stable( do not crash
frequently, infact very very few cases), ususally those are because of
memory requirementsn and we overcome that with the 64 bit version.

It is strange that you report frequent crashing, what is the
subversion of 446 you are using?
Sometimes multiCPU option might cause the crash, are you getting any
error messages from the crash, or is it just core dumping?

Here are the complete version informations:

-ic
@(#)$CDS: icfb.exe version 4.4.6 04/03/2002 14:35 (cds11612)
sub-version 4.4.6.100.66m (32-bit addresses)

-assura:
@(#)$CDS: assura version av2.0:roll-up:dfII4.4.6 02/28/2001 18:29 (source) $
integ signature 2001-02-28-2018

to be more precise on the crashes, it happens every time during
DRC, even before the DRC does start.
LVS is working fine, but after completion when a message
asks me wether i want to see the log file, if i do answer yes
this causes a crash. what is weird is that it happens only
when assura returned with success status.

any hints appreciated,

stéphane

Hi Stéphane

You might try truss/strace and/or gdb to figure out what exactly is
causing the crash. There are too many things that could cause crashes. I
haven't used Assura, so can't comment on what could cause it with Assura.

Satya
