You think ISO 9000 is worth anything?

It's worth everything if your customers require it. There's something to be
said for being able to make concrete parachutes in a predictable, repeatable
manner, too.

the very essence of ISO9000 - repeatability, and closed loop control
so that results are monitored to ensure repeatability. Oh, did I
mention repeatability?

Nothing about quality anywhere ....

This is a variation on "the customer is always right"
mantra. And if, for example, your customer requires
that you supply to no one else but him, is that still OK?

concrete parachutes in a predictable, repeatable

Really? What is it?

Which of course is exactly what ISO9000 is all about. Or, put another way,
it's all about being able to blame someone. Very American.

well, one normal response from you,
it's striking that more and more companies from Austria and Germany are
looking for some subperformers from Middle East. In these countries (like
we) there are some companies which are able to perform very complicated
works, (I mean SMT technology). But as I know ( I was at fair VIET in
Vienna) many decision makerks from your country still don't belive that in
Middle East can be done high quality work. They think (you too?) that we
think differently and it is hard to belive in our production powers. But, it
is big competition from China , Taiwan and so on... How your production
plants can fight against them? I think that only with quality. But in long
term ... I think it will be very hard to compete because of their low
production costs.

You will be made to outsource your production. Not in all cases of course,
but for example for small ar midium series it is better to place production
in Middle East and not in the Far East - because of transportation costs.
What seems to be against you , it is in fact your opportunity... to
manufacture in for example in Poland, but you can have your own point of
view. I com from Poland and I realy know what Polish companies can
manufacture and what quality we have.
