I have never had a rice cooker and I can not cook real rice at all. This is an awesome cooker- $22 at Sears. Anyway pour in water and rice and turn on and walk away. About 18 min later you have perfect rice like Peking down the street! Flips to warm after it is ready- so if you are not ready - it can wait on you. We also chilled the left overs and made fried rice with it the next day! Yummy! Have not used the steamer part yet...but A+ on the rice part!
