Aristona TV: No picture or sound and no red stand-by light b

Hey,

I'm having trouble with my little Aristona (=Philips) TV. The TV
doesn't give me a picture or sound anymore. Also the red stand-by
light on the front doesn't turn on when switching on the TV. I do hear
some noise when turning on the TV. Sounds like the high-voltage
circuit. I can only find one fuse in this television which is in the
power unit. I do'n think this one is broken because of the noise I'm
still hearing.

The model number of the Aristona tv is:
37TA1171/03

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Martijn:
I usually begin with cleaning the cabinet front and back, inside and
out and circuit board. I put the board in the sink to rinse and brush
and allow to dry a few hours, the screen and focus controls need to be
dry. Inspect visually the circuit board, familiarize yourself with it,
study the power supply.
