Seeing as I'm seriousl;y grumpy at BEC for stinging me $100 or so for
courier on my last board job (the same DHL guy that brings similar
sized packages to me from Polykom/Arrow/Braemac/whatever for around
$10 or so every few days) I'm thinking of giving Custom in Kuala
Lumpur a crack - they seem to make all the right noises - cheap
freight, Protel, credit card, lightning fast answer to a process
question (on a Saturday even !!!!!).
Question is : Do they make nice boards ?
Typically I do 8/8 mil DSPTH SMD - not rocket science but still
eminently stuffable uppable if not done correctly.
Opinions please...
cheers

Mike,
I got a little board I'd designed in Eagle made by Custom PCB. The result
was excellent, delivered quickly with no flaws and very cheap. Friendly &
helpful to deal with, I can recommend them highly. The most difficult part
of the process was the payment; done through an American intermediary that
didn't recognize my Aussie Visa numbers. Fixed after a couple of tries.
Visa gouged me on the exchange rate (paid in US$, 10% worse than the
published exchange rate) but I wasn't surprised.

cheers

While their quality may be better than Futurlec's protos (very likely
- google my past posts on Futurlec), the cost per proto is definitely
NOT attractive to me. Maybe on small production runs they might be
economic, but I haven't tried Futurlec's recently introduced
"commercial" quality production.
Futurlec's "commercial" production is 100+ boards.

Maybe we're a bit across porpoises there. Futurlec offer "proto" and
another tier of board which includes SM OV DS etc which aren't
available on the proto class. These don't appear to carry any MOQ.

Try "at cross purposes".
Or are you just "an ignorant remus" :)

Good grief, you've never used 'porpoises' for 'purposes'?? Lighten up.

I didn't think I needed to put a smiley in my o/p, but obviously I
didn't allow for you being a bit slow on the uptake - or just wanting
to the extreme pedant.
