Any way to recalibrate a 20yo Caloric oven that runs hot?

I have a 20yo Caloric gas oven that runs hot (about 10-20 degrees over
the setting you set it to.) Is there any way to recalibrate it? What
would be involved?

Thanks.

Likely, if it were mine I'd open the back and have a look, I would guess
there's an adjustment screw on the thermostat mechanism. I've never actually
looked inside a gas oven, can't be very complicated though. Just be careful
not to disturb any of the plumbing.

I would pull the knob off and check to see if the shaft was hollow and
there was a screw adjustment
under the knob.

First before making any adjustments, check the thermal bulb in the oven and

make sure it is clean, A build of over time will tend to insulate the bulb
causing the
thermostat to think it is colder in the oven
than it really is.
Also if you do decide to clean the thermal bulb be carefull not to break or
crimp the capillary tubing.
If you have determined after cleaning or inspecting the bulb that you would
like to make a thermostat adjustment, remove the
oven control knob and you should see a screw in the middle of the shaft of the
knob...
Adjust this screw as necessary during
monitoring of the oven temp slightly in either direction until you get your
desired results.

If you are really getting a temperature that is only 20 degrees above what
you set then you are really pretty lucky. These are not precision devices.
If your oven doesn't have an adjustable sleeve on the temperature dial, I'd
consider just leaving an oven thermometer in place all the time. In fact
having the thermometer is a good idea no matter what.

Or next to the shaft. I've seen them both ways.
