My Pannasonic TC29V26A has shows a snowy picture about 2 min after
switch on.

Pic comes up perfect when I turn it on, but then begins to show snow -
snow seems to fade in - sound stays OK - at times this goes to
eventually no pic at all just snowy screen as if not on channel - other
times just stays as sort of watchable snowy pic. Same on all channels.

No problem with signal strength as pic is always A1 if I use the VCR as
a front end, feeding into video input.

Connecting antenna direct to TV instead of thru VCR gives same problem
so VCR is not involved.

Have tried to find a service manual online but no luck

As finances bad would like to fix it myself if I can - my background is
ex TV tech, but from the days when valves ruled the (air) waves so am
rusty

Any ideas most welcome, and much appreciated

David

Listen mate don't buy any more Panasonic crap!!

Have you tried the two 330ľfd or is it 470ľfd 16V & 10V,C885, & C889
Located near IC803 power supply, on the secondary of the power supply.

They cause a host of problems.

Be careful they might have different reference number in Australia, they are
a bugger to find even when you did one the week before,

Do you know about ESR meters Dork smith sell?

Yeh? Reliability up to, is it?

Performance wise it was the best I could find when I bought it - better pic and
sharper front end than all the others I compared it with in side by side tests
- it and Sony were close, with the Pana a little better on weak sigs - both
were about a grand more than the lesser lights, but seemed worthy.

I haven't had a dig around as yet since no circuit. And no idea whether PS,
AGC, or front end the prob. Told ya I'm rusty - haven't poked around for 30
years!

Thanks for the info - will have a look

David
