At least 46 people were shot in the city of Chicago alone, nine fatally.

Other fatal shootings happened at an event where about 70 shots were fired in a public housing community in Birmingham, Alabama, a high school graduation party in the city of El Paso, Texas, and what police say was a targeted attack on a car in Sunnyvale, Texas.
