Another LED Question - "Plug-in" vs Solder...?

Hi, I have another Q.

Is it possible to connect an LED into a circuit (for a light) using a "plug"
sort of arrangement, or is there a need for them to be soldered on? I've
noticed that some LEDs have 1000 hr lifespans, so I'm wondering whether they
can be replaceable.

TIA!

Yes, sockets are available.
Which LEDs have a 1000 hr lifespan?

All the LEDs I've purchased recently are listed as having 50,000 or
100,000 hour life

1000 hours is an incandescent bulb.

Today's LEDs are very reliable, as long as they are not overdriven... that
is to say, as long as they're getting the right amount of current and aren't
being pushed too hard. You can install just about any kind of LED and it'll
likely last longer than some other component in the rest of the circuit (the
LED will probably outlive the project it's connected to).

OK,thanks! I wasn't sure.

Er, I was looking at too many different sheets - it's also probable that I
misunderstood something (I thought they lasted longer than that). But that's
why I wanted to be sure that the "plug-in" option exists.

If you need that info, I can try to re-dop my search...?

Thanks!; I obviously misread the numbers on my screen...(probably just "tired
eyes" dropping soem 0's ;) )
