Hi,
Apologies for this sounding very commercial. In addition to the
Anatek Corp and Satcure etc built-up versions of the Dick Smith
Electronics ESR meter, there's now another one available in a nice
low-profile professional case. You can see the pictures and download
the owner's manual at http://clientes.netvisao.pt/greenpal/
Thanks.

Bob,
When will it be available in the US? Does it have the input protection
circuit?

Thanks

Hi again Tony,
I'm having all kinds of newsgroup problems again. It's a specialty
of my ISP.
He's selling the meters to anyone who wants one, as far as I know.
That list of countries applies only to one payment method within
Europe, to the best of my knowledge. I've suggested that he changes
the wording so as not to confuse people.
The input protection is the same as the DSE meter plus there are
two large diodes connected across the test leads. No space in the
small box for anything more sophisticated.
And yes, there is a prominent warning in the owner's manual that
connecting it to a charged capacitor can potentially damage the
capacitor with the current surge.

Cheers,
Bob

I've done my own version of what I think the EVB ESR meter website
should look like. You can see it at
http://bob.parker.web1000.com/evb/index.html
All the links work. Comments?

Cheers,
Bob

Looks much better, and I see that he has added the twin diode input
protection.

What, no complaints that there is no EM84 to indicate relative ESR
value? :)

Cheers,
Bob
