Annoying continuous hourglass in Virtuoso

I am running, RedHatEnterprise Linux WS release 3 (Taroon Update 1) for
the OS, and am running the Cadence Virtuoso tool version
5.10.41_USR2.19.52, and get a continuous hourglass (actually square
with the eye, although the eye doesn't move) in the Virtuoso window. It
goes away if I bring a command menu window up, but then comes back
again after I do the command. If I let it sit there, it will not go
away. Any suggestions into areas I should look into? or anyone have
this problem?

Thanks.

Do you get it if you run "icfb -noblink"? (This is a bit of a stab in the dark,
but thought I'd suggest it anyway).

Andrew.

Hopefully you are using a Nvidia graphics card...

If you are, loading the Nvidia binary drivers should solve the
problem. Sounds like you're running with the default, open source
nvidia drivers.

Fixed it for me!

Best of luck,
