A new Surplus Electronics Component Shop has opened at 43 Sarton Rd. Clayton, VIC,
in the next street behind Rockby. They ARE associated.
Opening hours are Mon-Fri: 11am - 4pm, Sat: 9am-12pm.
I purchased a couple of TM162A LCDs, with 3 pushbuttons, a couple of leds and
a piezo on a seperate board, and some attached ribbon cable for the grand
total of $1 each. I don't know if the LC displays I bought are 16 x 2, or 16 x 1.
A short google search turned up some 16 x 2s but they don't look like what I purchased.
I had a wander around, some pc power supplies (dunno the wattage) for $9 each,
what looks like professional ERNI racking rails, sides, panels, etc, connectors,
4 digit x 7 segment (and more segments) multiplexed LED displays, direct drive
LCD displays, etc. Heaps of connectors, bar code readers (usb, serial, pc keyboard
interface) for about $50, even a dozen or so large VF displays that are about 40 x 2,
but they need drivers.
The place looks like a mess, so much of what they've got available isn't exactly clear,
neither are the prices, as they're just getting organised.
I have no commercial interest in the company. I found about it today
when I was at Rockby to purchase some goods.
