Alternative chip advice?

Hi

I'm trying to fix an old Hitachi SR-703 receiver. I get a strong
signal on the FM signal strength meter but there is no sound and the
stereo light stays off.

AM works fine. All other inputs and outputs are fine.

I'm guessing the problem is the PLL FM stereo decoder chip. This is a
Hitachi HA1196. I can't find it anywhere in the UK, can anyone
recommend a drop in replacement? Or should I be looking at something
else?

If you can find someone in the UK that sells NTE semiconductors the
direct replacement would be----NTE1484.
I found a couple of places, in what I think is the UK, that indicate
that they have the HA1196 in stock. They are:
