Alpine CDM-7861 In-dash CD Problems

Hi. I have an Alpine CDM-7861 In-Dash CD player that's been having
problems. I posted a couple of months ago to this group and they told me
the laser assembly was worn, and to replace that. I replaced the whole
CD mech and it is still having the same problem. After playing for about
10-15mins, you'll start to hear static in the music. If I whack the dash
, or switch to radio and back, it'll get rid of the static for a short
while (less than a min with a whack, and sometimes up to 10mins for the
switching). Also, sometimes shortly after the static starts it'll throw
up "ERROR" on the display. If I switch to radio and back, it'll play
again for about 5-10mins. I'm currently using the CD changer (which
plays perfect), but would love to get the built-in cd to play correct
again since it has CD-Text. It certainly seems now that it's something
on the mainboard, possibly the PSU section. Some component is failing.
I'm looking for suggestions as to what components I should look at,
and/or the best ways to track down the correct component. I'm not a pro,
but I do have experience working with electronics, and do have the
necessary tools (including a VOM and an oscilloscope). Any suggestions
or possibly a place I could find a service manual for free or cheap.
Thank you very much!
