Long time ago I learned a bit how to use LS type of IC ...

Now there's a lot of news families (HC, LS , Plain TTL ...)
Can someone gives me some ideas about what are diffrences between them ?

Thanks

Plain TTL, LS, is the old stuff. They use lots of power and the logic highs
and lows sit somewhere inside the 5V supply.
74HCxxxx offers the same functions (and more) but is nearly "perfect!".

GOOGLE, GOOGLE, GOOGLE, GOOGLE, GOOGLE!!!!!!!

No, I'm not impersonating a turkey, I'm trying to express my utter
frustration in peoples distinct lack of ability when it comes to
finding information on the net.

try these search terms;
logic family comparison, CMOS, Low Power Schottky, TTL etc etc.

You'll get HEAPS of stuff, a few pages I found quickly with that first
search term will shed some light on the subject for you;

http://design.stanford.edu/spdl/ME218a/logic/which_is_best.html
http://satya.virtualave.net/icfam.html
http://www.avnetkopp.co.za/Semi_log.htm

easy isn't it?

nifty

Thanks alot that really help !

Thanks for pointing some good sources.
:)

And also to teach to look at google ( I also should allways include that
when I answers some questions !!) :)

There's also:

www.xs4all.nl/~ganswijk/chipdir/ttl.htm
http://focus.ti.com/docs/logic/catalog/resources/selectionmatrix.jhtml?fileName=seltree_by_volt

I was hesiting between LS and HC, based on fact that I'm only hobist,
Performance and speed needed for are ok with those, and cost seems to
be nearly the same ...

So I bought some LS for foulling around :)
