I would appreciate any help with a problem on an Aiwa XRM700 small tower
system.
It is a 3 disc player... It has 3 buttons that say "cd direct play" above
them and 3 buttons that say "disc change-open/close"
When you attempt to eject the cd trays the cd direct buttons flash and the
LED readout on the front of the machine say ELV.ERROR and the tray will
not open.
Thanks in anticipation.
Ian

ELV probably means "elevator". A mechanical problem, or one or more of the
motors aren't running (a power supply problem, for example). I have no
actual experience with your model, however.

Mark thanks for that, i will see if anyone else can help but i think from
what you say it is going to have to pay a visit to a repair shop eventually.

Just an idea, but if it is a mechanical problem, you could try checking if
there are any belts which are slipping under load, due to having been
stretched over time. Sometimes happens with full logic cassette players
causing the heads to get stuck.

I'll try that also but to be fair it's only about 3 years old and has hardly
been used.

The lack of use could have caused a belt to stretch or dry up, or
lubrication to dry.
