Aiwa AM-F75 Mini Disk- top buttons not working?

The Remote works fine but for some reason the buttons dont respond on the
top of the unit?

the Top Jog wheel will adjust the volume but none of the other buttons work
at all?

I have checked the Ribbon connectors which seem ok?

any help in solving this will be greatly appreciated.

Just a thought - could one of the buttons be stuck? If one switch in a
key-matrix is stuck "on" it will disable the whole group.
