Air wick now has an inbuilt sensor that detects odour molecules (they
recon)that triggers the spray.Does any one believe them?
Stick it in a sterile room and I bet it will go off.
Bet it mainly works off a timer.

May be its own odour sets it off (perpetual motion)?

Well, try a chip search for "odour" detecting chips.
Probably detects an "odour" component.

Not really trying to prove, just do not believe them.
if you place it in an odour free zone they would stay full?
