Hi.
Just looking for some advice. I *dont* want to be told I'm evil for not taking the monitor to be repaired, because its NOT going to be worth it. Repair just costs too much these days relative to a new unit.
I just want to see what I can do with a little help.
its a 19" Unit and I am well aware of what not to touch inside and why.
Relisys TE988-RE
Im told it went 'crack' and smoke came out. My guess is the transistor driving the LOPT, but I dont really know where to go from there.
Can I test it in circuit?
Does this monitor have common failures?
Does anyone have schematics? (dont offer them for sale, Im not interested unles its free).
Thanks!

Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are tasty and good with ketchup.
