adjusting the v-position on a tv..

Is it possible to adjust the vertical position on a TV (specifically, a
Toshiba 27" tv.. about 10 years old maybe?) without having to bring it to
an electronics repair place?

The TV is in EXCELLENT condition except for the top of the picture wraps
around and back down. Sort of like when you adjust a monitor's screen
position too far and it wraps around.. If I could just adjust this one
little thing, I'd have an awesome TV for the living room (right now it's in
the bedroom)

Thanks in advance,

Your are describing foldover, normally caused when the electrolytic caps in
the vetical ckt start failing. Get out the ESR meter and check the caps in
the set, I'm sure you will find a few that need attention, including the 2.2
ufd items in the vertical circuit. Check the posts to sci.electronics.repair
newsgroup: you will find a wealth of info regarding Toshiba and vertical
problems.
