I have an older APC Backups Pro 280 that is hooked up to my TiVo and big
screen T.V. During scenes with a lot of white, the ups's overload lite
lites during the whole scene and then turns off or just blinks if the scene
is bright. Does anyone know which adjustment inside the ups is the current
sensing circuit. The ups will power the system for at least three minutes
(that's as long as I ran it unplugged).
Now to answer the questions of why hook a Tivo and TV. Simple, we loose
power for just a couple seconds a lot here in southern California and when
we do loose power, the DirectTV TiVo takes a couple minutes to reboot and
aquite a signal. And, I don't think that it is too good for the T.V. to
turn on and off a couple times every hour when the wind is blowing hard.
The UPS has a new battery.
