ADE XL issue, simualtion does not run

Hi, there:

I’ve install IC6131 to my ubuntu 9.04 system. Installation was going
quite smoothly, and looks everything is fine including: virtuoso, ade
L and viva. When I went through the ADE XL, the interface is ok, I
setup a test using spectre, which is common and tested by ADE L. After
pushing the button of “run”, no simulation starts. After a while, a
popup shows: either my current setup policy is wrong for my machine or
cadence hierarchy installation has problem. After check my Setup
Policy, I’m quite for sure there is no problem at setup, I used local
host for simulation, therefore there should have no remote host or rsh
issue. The most confused for me is there is no warning or error at
xterm or CIW at all, it’s quite unusual for cadence products.

Does anyone can tell me what’s wrong with my ADE XL? Thanks a lot.

Hi Vincent,

You better get in touch with your Cadence AE.
BTW, would you mind to post the exact error message you have got.
Also, when you have installed Cadence, did you run the config and test
utilities with installScape ? Is your license server up and running ?
Anyway, post your exact error message. This is likely to give us
better ideas ...

Cheers,
Riad.

Thank Riad. Since I'm off office, I can't post the exact error
message. However, I'm sure I did run the config and test all the
utilities with install Scape (for sovle that issue, I did reinstalled
software actually). My license should be OK, I did checked out all the
feature (again for debug), and run other feature with no issue. The
error message is the routine one, which triggered by "timeout" set at
ADE XL, it means whatever happened, it will show just because
simulation did not run after "timeout" minutes.
Now, I'm thinking about operation system problem or some environment
setting issue, do you have any hint for those?

Regards

Vincent

Are you getting the little terminal window appearing in the "Run Summary"
Assistant? If so, can you do Right Mouse Button over it and look at the log
file? Can you post the log file you get?

Best Regards,

Andrew.
