Adding video Input to TV

I own Magnavox 25" TV, chassis model 25P615/00-AA.
I would like to add composite video input to the unit. I have skills
to do it
(soldering,and basic electronics), just needed some pointers what
would be
the place on circut board to do this. I had hard time locationg
modification on the net,so the newsgroup look like good place to ask
the question.

These type of modifications would be excessively expensive and probably
produce possible shock hazards to the user. Just go out and buy a nice 27"
with the avio ports already designed into the package.

Radio shack sells a RF converter with A/V jacks..............much easier.

Not cost effective.

First and foremost is the fact that this is a "Hot" chassis.
This would mean you would need to isolate the A/V inputs.
Second would be how to select these inputs.
The micro knows nothing of external inputs for this model.
The only reasonable (expensive) way to do this would be to purchase
an upgrade chassis such as the EMP665 and add an A/V Jack Panel assembly
(AVJ180).
These parts are from a step up version of your set.

The cost of the Jack Panel alone would exceed the cost of a new set with
these already in place.

Knowing how and having the skills to do the work doesn't always make it an
attractive option.

Probably the easiest thing to do is to get one of the video game
modulators that take composite video in and put out a signal on
ch 3 or 4, which you connect to the TV antenna connection.

RF Modulator is not solution for what I need.
I honestly thought that it would be simple operation.
Buying new TV seems like solution. I am hesitant because
the old one works great regardelss it's age.

Macrovision only effects (or is it affects?) VHS when recording.. I have my
DVD player wired into my VHS then to my tv through the RF cable. The only
time macrovision is a problem is when I try to record DVDs, It just fades in
and out on the screen.. Some earlier VHS machines (late 80's to early 90's)
seem not to be effected by macrovision at all, they record with no probs.

Many recent VCRs will not pass through signals encoded with macrovision,
whether recording or not.

some boards might have the spot already for you to solder, that is so
they can use the same board for there more expensive model with av
jacks. Other wise it is dangerous and not worth it if you have to
spend money.

I used to use thoses beta vcrs as modulaters but now I use the ones
from the camcorders with a 5volt dc wall adapter to make it work.
