AC/DC Power Supply

I am trying to locate a replacement power supply for my wireless speaker
system. The tag on the speakers says DC15V 800ma. The existing power supply
that is not working shows it is a class 2 transformer and shows O/P 15 V DC
800mA.

I have read earlier posts on trying to open it up and repair it. I'm not
real familiar with this, but it's not working now, so I guess it wouldn't
hurt to try and see if I can make it work.

I'd really like to just buy a new power supply. Any suggestions on where I
might find one would be appreciated.

Thanks

Radio Shack should have something close enough to work.

James: I've checked at Radio Shack and they do not have one locally. The
only one I see on the net is a 15V 1000mA that is a swithing power supply...
I'm not usre that will work..

Can you tell me if it will?

Thanks

Save yourself some money. try www.meci.com

Look up transformer/dc/15v 1.3 amp - $3.95

Did you try contacting the place where you bought the speaker system, or the
manufacture directly?

It is most likely possible to substitute the power supply. If you go to any
of the major electronics parts suppliers, they can find something for you.
You would have to have someone properly solder on the matched connector, or
match the original connector. The polarity is also very important. If you
are not familiar with this type of work, you should get a service centre to
look after it for you. It will not be very expensive to do this.

As long as the voltage is right, the unit will draw the current it needs.
