Hi
I've just bought myself a chess computer.
The user manual states that the unit requires an ac adaptor providing 6 to 8
volts output and 50 to 100ma.
I don't have, nor can I easily purchase such an adaptor so far.
I do have a switchable ac adaptor, that has 3 outputs, including 3,6 and 9
volts, with a maximum ma output of 300ma.
I was informed by an electronics store rep. that my existing adaptor, set at
6 volts would be okay and that the chess pc would only draw as many ma as it
requires.
The chess manual doesn't state that the ac adaptor needs to be regulated.
(My adaptor is not regulated.)
(My ac adaptor is centre positive and that's exactly what the new unit needs
also.)
Fingers crossed.
Thankyou gurus. I'm not worthy but very appreciative.
