About ASSURA and HIT-KIT 3.40

I am writing to seek for some help about using Cadence Assura to perform
physical verification with AMS Tech CUP.

Our university has joint the Cadence University program for years, this
year we have renewed the program, however, the university program does
not allow us to use DIVA to perform physical verification anymore, and
we are required to migrate to ASSURA. From the AMS websites, Hit-Kit
3.40 seems does not support the use of ASSURA, so we want to ask if any
body face the same problem before also. I want to ask if anyone has
tried to use ASSURA to perform DRC, LVS and extraction for TECH CUP
using Cadence. If yes would you mind telling us how to do so, because
currently we still have some research projects are using this technology
and we still need to use this process. For example, do we need to
convert our rules manually, or we have other ways to get the rule files
for ASSURA?

Thank you for your kind attention.

Assura accepts Diva rules with few modifications.

Also, the master key feature allows you to run Diva using
an Assura license. (never tried it though).

check the Diva to Assura Migration Guide, that should be
in the doc directory of your assura installation tree. or
rip it on sourcelink.

Hi,

Thanks for you help, actually I have already referred to the Diva to
Assura Migration Guide already before ask in here, however:

1. Assura can accept Diva rules with few modification, however, the case
is that, the design rule file for the HIT-KIT is encrypted......, when I
try to follow the instruction to use compile only option, I discover
that the rule file I can read is just a load command for referring to
another encrypted design rule file, so this method not work.

2. The Master Key Features requires both DIVA and ASSURA license are
avaliable, in our case, now we only have ASSURA license but no DIVA, so
this method also not work.

As a result, we still cannot find a good solution for using ASSURA in
the HIT-KIT.
