SEX attacks carried out on two schoolgirls by a Halesowen man were
linked to a head injury he suffered in a motorcycle accident, a court heard.
Christopher Page was placed under supervision by a judge for two years
with a condition he continues medical treatment.
The 27-year-old groomed the one girl through an internet chatroom and he
travelled to her home after she agreed to meet him, Wolverhampton Crown
Court was told.
There was sexual activity between Page and the 14-year-old but the
matter came to light when the girl's sister who had been monitoring her
computer discovered what had taken place and notified police.
Gerald Quirke, prosecuting, said Page met the other girl in the Black
Country area and she was left suffering nightmares after he carried out
a sexual assault.
Page, of Hagley Road, had been unfit to plead because of brain damage he
suffered in a motor cycle accident when he remained in a coma for 28
days and spent three months in hospital.
But it was proved at two court hearings he had groomed and abducted the
one girl and also carried out four sexual assaults on his two victims.
Judge John Warner further ordered him to register as a sex offender for
five years and ruled there must be no contact with any child under 18
years of age, that he must not use internet chatrooms or possess video
equipment or a camera.
Christopher Hotten QC, defending, said psychiatric reports confirmed
there was a link between the head injury suffered by Page and his
offending.
