567 model?

After fairly extensive googling I still haven't found a 567 Spice
model. Has this chip's complexity defied modeling to date?

Yes and no. Its not that it is too complex for a reasonable basic model
to be made. Its just that it takes quite a bit of time to, do so people
would rather go down the pub instead.

Hi Terry,
Is this the PLL chip NE567 that your after? If so, Connelly and Choi's
book 'Macromodeling with SPICE' has 2 chapters devoted to modelling a PLL,
which is based around the 565. There was also a disk with the book which
contains an EXE and BAS source for a program to produce a PLL model by
feeding in parameters from the datasheet. If this is what your after, I can
mail the 2 files, but how much success you'll get without having the book I
cannot say! Looks like it's based around Spice 2G6, so there shouldn't be
any problems on that front.

Thanks very much, Tim, and yes please, I would like the two files
anyway. I seriously doubt if I'll be able to make much progress, but I
have a skilled young friend, Paresh, in Goa, India, who might be able
to get somewhere with it.

As Michael implies, though, it sounds as if enlightenment will at best
be about general principles, rather than the specific NE567 model?
