50" Mits Big screen

Hi:

My 10 year old big screen is ill. When the picture has a strong white
background the screen jumps like crazy. It is getting worse and it only happens
with strong white background screens. All other pictures/sporting events work
fine usually. It does happen on every channel.

Anybody have any ideas? Anyone know someone good I can call in? I live in the
Los Angeles, CA area

I would guess it's a power supply problem, can't help much on who to call
in, but if the picture is good otherwise I would say it's worth having it
fixed, I can also say don't bother poking around inside it, there's nothing
you can do without proper tools and some knowledge of what to look for.

Due to it's age it is probable there are many electrolytic capacitors in
multiple circuits that need to be at least checked with an esr meter and
probably replaces, also it may be starting to exhibit either akb problems
due to the ageing of the crts, or the infamous pip failure. Best to have
serviced by a competent facility that has repaired many MGA sets.
