4-20mA output modules

Hi all,
I'm looking for a D to A converter that takes serial binary data
(preferably TTL) and converts it to a 4-20mA output. Currently, I am
using this module from DGH:

But I'm finding it to be large and expensive. The nice thing is it
takes ASCII commands, and so is very easy to use. Thanks.

Hi, it shouldn't be too hard to get a micro to do this, what sort of volume do
you need?
