3M ZIF sockets....

Hi all!

I'm looking for a certain type of ZIF socket. They are made by 3M, and
used to be black, but are now available in green.

I can get most types, but am looking specifically for a universal type
24 pin one, that can take .3-.6 wide chips. I can get the .3 and .6 only
ones, and I can get the 28 pin universal one, but cannot find anoyone
with the 24 pin one.

Any ideas? It needs to be the ŁM and not the aries one to replace the
socket on a Data I/O Unipak 2B.

If you can stand ugly, get the 28 pin one, hack off four pins on one end or
the other on the bottom to make it fit, block those holes on the top, solder
it in and get to work!

I have a 24-pin universal Textool ZIF socket (green), if you want it.
Looks to have a similar footprint to the Aries, though.

Hiya!

That's almost an idea, but.....how about I was to buy a 28 pin, and take
it and the existing 24 pin one (whos pins are corroded, hence the need
for a replacement) and put the new pins into the old shell......

....a last resort I suppose - thanks for the idea. I would still prefer
to get a new one, as I've replaced all the others in the unipak, and
would have liked to get this one new as well.
