3.3V <-> 5V

Hi,

I need a bidirectional level converter to convert 3.3V to 5V. It has to be
bidirectional as the signal is bidirectional. Im aware that IC's exist to
do this, but I want to do it without any IC's. Can anyone give me any
pointers on how to do this?

If you use a capacitor and a couple of voltage dividers, you can pass small
signals between 3.3 and 5V. You can also do this with an optoisolation. Take
