hello,

I bought these two brand new 17" monitors from a salvage
store for $65 each. They both seem to have the same problem.

Picture too bright with retrace lines, then shut down due
to excessive beam current.

If I drop the screen voltage down from 550 volts to about
250 volts, they look good and stay on.

However, I got these monitors for a friend that wants to resell
them in his computer shop, so I'd like to do a real fix on them,
and not just gerry-rig the screen voltage.

I'm thinking that maybe this is a syndrome being they're both new
and have the same problem.

Anyone else seen this,, know the official fix?

Thanks,

Could this problem be perhaps due to some bad data in
some setup registers?

Is there a "service mode" for these monitors?
And if so, can anyone tell me how to get into it?

Thanks
