100% Surge Tested Tantalum Capacitors

Yet another question concerning capacitors blowing up.

Vishay Sprague states their tantalums are "100% surge current tested"
but I can't find any quantitative data concerning this.

I use both 593D and 594D series caps in my circuit in various spots.
Caps from both series occassionally and randomly blow up. Generally
it occurs on power up.

How much current and for how long can these caps stand up for?

Also, if a spec sheet lists a cap at ESR=100 Ohms and i=1A ripple at
100KHZ, what ballpark numbers can I expect for around 50KHZ?

Thanks,
David
