0-in assertions, you opinion please

Has anyone in this forum used them before? I work in a company where VCS
and 0-in's are the only tools available for functional verification. How
does 0-in help you more than just plane Verilog when you are doing the
following:

1- Creating coverage objects.
2- Writing checkers.
